Flickr Ideas

Flickr I started to use more of flickr yesterday and found that they have a FlickrIdeas forum.

Now, seeking users’ idea is nothing new to web applications or softwares. Most of the time users ask for new feature or feature enhancements. But what is interesting about the FlickrIdeas forum is the sheer amount of idea suggestions.

A topic that attracts attention is Internationalization. Which is something that is on my mind very often as well. In fact I do not recall any Web2.0 idea that is internationalized and attracting multi-lingo users.

Using Flickr beyond photo alerted me that non-photos are not welcome. Or that was what implied. I should keep an eye on it as this is how I’m using flickr now.

Looking at online calendars and contact list. I found Plaxo to be a very good fit. Going to try it more thoroughly when I have more time.

On s separate note, I’d heard of Plaxo way before Web 2.0 became the vogue. Nice to see a Web 1.0 service still around.

Found a number of opensource projects and web services in the calendar/groupware space. None of them is near mature. None integrate contact and calendar (like birthday). I still like Yahoo Addressbook but they should give it a big usability upgrade.
